Meade County is located in the state of South Dakota. It encompasses a total of 3,482 miles of which 12 miles is water. The population as of last census was 25,434; its county seat is Sturgis This is the largest county in South Dakota as far as land.The Sturgis Bike Rally is a world famous Motorcycle Rally held around the first couple weeks in August, note if you are trying to have a fun family vacation, try to avoid the whole western half of South Dakota for these couple weeks, as finding any kind of lodging during this time frame is rather crazy ! On the other hand if you love to party, love motorcycles, and love lots of crazy fun people, by all means visit western South Dakota during these two weeks !
